Not the Hike You Wanted

Any time you get to spend walking in the woods is time well spent. I try to remind myself this when I feel like I’ve failed on a trail. If you get to slow down and take in some nature, abandon all of the everyday hullabaloo, it’s a good thing. Today Fox and I tried tackling part of a trail we’ve attempted in the past. We didn’t get very far. It was a real uphill climb. I was not fairing well and neither was Fox, though he’d probably follow me if I would’ve kept going. Needless to say, I was disappointed in my attempt. BUT we spent time outdoors, saw some wildlife, and Fox got to play in the river. Sometimes it’s the little things that make the adventure.
